The groom and groomsmen (including the bride’s father) usually all dress similarly for the wedding. Sometimes the groom will choose to look a little
different, either by wearing a different waistcoat or tie, but usually if all the groomsmen all dress the same the overall look is more effective. Many groom and groomsmen choose to hire their suit for the day, as it is something they are unlikely to wear again, but there is always the option to buy your wedding suit if you wish.
There are a number of different types of suits to choose from, such as a morning suit, which is usually worn for weddings before 3pm, and consists of a tailcoat, wing-collar, waistcoat, cravat, and top hat. Other suits to choose from include a lounge suit, which is a more informal option and is not limited by colour or style, a black tie suit, which consists of a black dinner jacket, shirt, trousers and black bow tie, and a white tie suit, which is for grand, formal celebrations and consists of an evening tailcoat, trousers, stiff-wing collar shirt, and a white bow tie.
